At QVAC, we’ve always believed that health and safety go beyond hard hats and risk assessments. True workplace safety also means creating space for mental health, connection, and community, because looking after our people is just as important as looking after our projects.
Inspired by Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re proud to officially launch our new monthly initiative: QVAC Walk & Talk.
Mental Health Is Everyone’s Business
In the construction, engineering, and HVAC industries, it’s easy to get caught up in deadlines, tools, and technical challenges. But behind every job sheet is a person, and like every system we service, people need proactive care and attention to thrive.
Mental health can’t be left for when things reach breaking point. That’s why we’re embedding wellbeing into our culture, one step at a time.
What Is QVAC Walk & Talk?
Starting the last Friday of each month, the QVAC team will step away from tools, laptops, and vans to go for a walk together out in nature.
There’s no agenda. No pressure to perform or problem-solve. Just fresh air, open space, and an opportunity to reset.
Whether it’s chatting about life, work, or enjoying a quiet walk with colleagues, the purpose is simple:
- Encourage open conversations
- Promote mental and physical health
- Build a stronger, more connected team
We know that some of the best conversations don’t happen in meeting rooms, they happen out in the fresh air, shoulder to shoulder.
A Culture of Care at QVAC
Our goal isn’t just to keep people safe, it’s to help them feel seen, supported, and valued. The Walk & Talk initiative is just one way we’re building a culture of care here at QVAC.
It’s part of a wider effort to break the stigma around mental health in construction and technical industries, and to show that sometimes, making space for wellbeing can be as simple as taking a walk together.
Let’s Keep Moving Forward…Together
We’re excited to see where this small initiative takes us, literally and figuratively. Because when we walk and talk together, we move forward as a team.
Stay tuned for updates from our first Walk & Talk later this month, and if you’re in the industry, we’d love to hear how your team is supporting wellbeing at work.
